Web Development

The Linea Directa team asked me to develop a whole project with the Adobe Flash and ActionScript 3.0: a small interactive application for transferring the dynamic choice of client to the server via a combination Flash - JavaScript - XML. Interest in the RIAs was born. I enrolled in courses of initiations to understand better Flex and Ajax.

That's when Strands contacted me to participate in an interesting project for the second Spanish bank, BBVA.
Despite my lack of experience RIAs, Strands insisted that I participate in the creation and conceptualization of widgets in Flex. This great opportunity and new challenge dived me fully into Web 2.0.

The project, “BBVA: Tú Cuentas”, is an Award winning application for the management of personal which was integrated in both the web services of the bank and moneystrands owned by Strands. This development was rich in complexity, interesting humanely and fed my thirst for knowledge in. So I began training in Java with the intention to refine my understanding of Object Oriented Programming (OOP). Finally, I took the opportunity to confirm my aquaintance by passing two Sun Microsystems exams: Sun Certified Java Programmer (SCJP - J2SE) and Sun Certified Web Component Developer (SCWCD - J2EE).

As a consultant at Project6 Design, my work was very varied: development with the Flash Platform, Google Analytics, html email with Acxiom and User Interface, whose main clients were Gap, Technorati, Ooliyo, Nokia, Comcast, Project6 ...

Web Design

Coming from the creative world (architecture and design) and having, at that time, a relative knowledge regarding the Internet world, I became familiar to this new world through Flash and ActionScript 2.0. With the collaboration of Luis Madrid, we worked for the Spanish Architecture Biennial, an interesting work on different formats, which work was released in the book: "VIII Bienal de Arquitectura Española 2005”. Subsequently, the School of Architecture of Alcalá de Henares has contacted us to make their web.

In Bodaclick, leader in Spain as web portal for everything related with wedding and business events, apart from creating advertising, I designed Flash microsites for exclusive clients and in the meanwhile I took the opportunity to deepen my knowledge of XHTML and discover the usefulness of CSS. This new view of the web led me to accept a position as web designer at Linea Directa.

In this firm, Spanish version of Direct Line, I first refine my skills in Web Design (XHTML, CSS, JavaScript) and on the other hand, put into practice the achievements of the postgraduate course in ActionScript 3.0 I followed the evening.

Later, at Strands, I was responsible for User Experience and GUI design of a recommendation system for a video clip televison: music.strands.tv. Three projects: two for Strands, Inc. and one for Virgilio.it (Alice Italia).

Virgilio received during 2009 about 500K visits daily. This pressure was also an interesting key element in our work.

Graphic Design / Illustrations

The first step of my conversion to the digital world began, as a first instance, creating graphic arts for advertising posters and then for the web format.

The gallery below shows some graphics work and illustrations. The illustrations are mostly used as graphics for posters, flyers, web advertising or for interior decoration of a shop.

Apart from the last images in the gallery, these artwork has been realised as a freelance.
