Installation : Interface*

Interface: experiment in space and time. This project is a continuation of the discussion initiated in my work at the end of study: The 2d space. This work calls into question the process of acquiring knowledge of our environment. The installation comes in the form of a dark space and sealed.

Crossing the threshold that separates the assimilated world and the world offered by the box, the viewer is immersed in a hybrid space (virtual and real) in which his senses are tested. Inside, a projection taking into account the volumes of space creates an erroneous perception, a fictional space that exists only through shortcuts that our brain is doing to interpret and assimilate our environment. The projected image is recalculated at any time based on our movement. The projection is reprocessed in real time so that the focal length between this virtual space and the spectator is invariant. The space gives the feeling of being immutable. The user becomes the repository of the virtual environment. At each of his movement, space travels with him. This experiment calls into question the relevance of our process of spatial cognition.
Completion of this project was made possible by using sensors connected to a keyboard and a few line code in Flash.
With the participation of Peter Salmang experimental musician (Somekong, Angele Phase), we presented this project at FAIM, "Feria de Arte Independiente de Madrid.

NB: Unfortunately, I could not get much of graphic material to illustrate this installation. The latest photos are part of a previous related project in Brussels.

Eclectik Sound of Virgin

While I was resident DJ in Madrid, I organized « Eclectik Expressions ». This was the first time the name "Eclectik" was used. This event aims to sensitize the public about different forms of expressions. On the menu were an exhibition of graffiti (Boamistura), a concert by Jaime Alejandro Yacaman and another by Syncoped Disfunktion (Jazz Trio jamming with electronic rhythms like "Broken beats or drum'n'bass . Benjamín Castro and myself producing and mixing the basic rhythms) and action painting influenced by the experimental live of Somekong, not forgetting Luis Madrid as video jockey.

Then with the help of Michael Moradiellos we held the evenings Eclectik Sound of Virgin, three consecutive years in Brussels. It was an interesting musical connection between Brussels and Madrid, but also a good opportunity to serve a good and "eclectic" cocktail of sounds. The video shows the second edition held in the Ball Horta. The abandoned building contrasting with this glamorous public converted this gala evening in an exquisite night rhythmed by a freshly decadent electronic music.

Participating in this little adventure: Javier Benítez (Xaves the Wales), Benjamin Castro (Basurama), Frederic Jarry (Music journalist), Luis Madrid, Rodolphe de Mol, Michael Moradieillos, Olivier Rocky Manoc, Peter Salmang (Angele Phase), myself (Federico Morozzo della Rocca aka Eclectikz) and Camilo Jr. aka Forrero without whom we would not have this video.

DJ Sessions

Here you can listen to some sessions. The styles are very different, and these few mixes reveal only partially the range of my tastes. I draw my influences in black music, whether African-American, African or Latin American. In recent years, I'm looking more and more foundations and roots of dance music. I particularly like the beginnings of a new gender, when it cannot be caricatured by a tag, when it impertinently flirts with its various influences, its impetuous early days.
